With over 15 years experience in the health and fitness industry and a competitive athletic background that started soon after the age of nine Richard has been there done it and is probably still wearing the t-shirt.
Richard defines fitness as being 'more than a day job because it's pretty much the definition of who I am...'. After leaving academia he went on to work for Fitness First and quickly established himself within the fast expanding company where he moved upwards through the ranks to becoming a successful General Manager and then Southern Regional Fitness Manager before leaving to assist and consult for various public and private health clubs.
His passion for both people and fitness meant that he never stopped teaching, dancing and training and eventually he returned to his roots and has become a widely respected and approachable fitness expert, tutor and presenter both nationally and internationally.
When you think of Richard and fitness, think of hand and glove.
His outgoing, grounded and witty personality has endeared him to thousands of people over the years leading to endless work as a personal trainer and choreographer. He came to prominence both nationally and internationally, and has featured on programmes and channels such as; MTV, Newsround (BBC1), The 11'o'clock Show (C4) and more recently on 3mobile's podcast reaching its massive base of mobile phone users.
Richard's background and love of fitness and dance also provided him with the tools to successfully choreograph and present the Jordan Workout alongside Katie Price in 2005 which went on to become one of the biggest selling fitness dvds of the year. His appearances on Jordan & Peter: Marriage & Mayhem for ITV2 highlighted his natural ease at presenting and this relaxed attitude led onto 2006's No.1 selling WOW Workout DVD with Vicky Entwistle (Coronation St) which sold in excess of 220,000 copies and still features in charts today. Richard is one of a very small number of presenters and trainers who have featured in more than one top selling fitness DVD and with presenting 2008’s Dancing on Ice: Dancercise fitness DVD produced for ITV, he has the potential to one day become the biggest selling DVD fitness male in the UK.
A natural entertainer with a cheeky streak, Richard is as comfortable on the red carpet being interviewed as he is giving the interviews, and with his open mind and outgoing personality he is most definitely up for any challenge.
